July 6, 2015 Batuco, Chile

Zona: Colina
Sector: Batuco 1
Comp: Elder Cuadrado

Esta semana no fue tan buena. Our week was so-so haha. We had alot of trouble with our apointments dying and investigators not keeping compromisos. This week we had la Copa America. Chile won and everyone just went crazy! We lost alot of time also because 3 days we were told to stay in our house from 5-10 or 8-10 so we lost alot there. But this last week we contacted a man who recycles trash. He has a family of 4. We talked to him for almost 20 minutes! We couldnt have a lesson because it was already 9:30 at night but we actually have an appointment with him tonight at 8pm! He is very interested.

I had an interview with my presidente a little while ago. He helped me make a few goals and told me to study what it means to be a consecrated missionary. He told me that all the missionaries live the law of sacrifice but that there are very few consecrated missionaries.

I was reading in alma because I know that he was a consecrated missionary. I love Alma 29:9 where alma says that he glories in what the Lord commands him. I have head sooo many missionaries complain about rules and even I have at sometimes. There are so many rules!! But in D&C 59:4 it says that those who are faithful will receive more commandments. What?!??? But God gives us commandments to litterally show us that path that leads to happiness. We all want to return with our Father in Heaven that is the goal of all His children. But we have to learn the law of consecration and actually going to the temple helps us lean that law. Jesus told us to follow him and feed his sheep. Jesus talked to peter about this telling him to leave his boat and fish and to feed his sheep. Elder Holland eplains this perfectly and I want to close my letter with this video. I hope to strive to be more of the missionary the Lord wants me to be. I am so thankful to be here in the mission.

Love You guys!
