March 2, 2015 Cerro Navia, Chile

Cerro Navia
Sector: Galvarino 2
C/ Elder Wilcox

Hola Everyone! This week has been pretty good! We didnt have many lessons but we did a few activities that worked out very well. My companion and I have had the idea to start teaching members the chapters in preach my gospel so that they can help us. We have been doing splits with the members and youth in the ward as well. The things that we are teaching them from preach my gospel will help them in their callings as well. I know that following the teachings in preach my gospel the members will be more effective at finding and teaching the less actives and doing their visting and home teaching. We hold a preach my gospel class once a week for the whole ward. It is awesome!

This week we acted out the Plan of Salvation for the youth in the ward. We used the entire church building and many of the ward leaders. The youth started in the chapel where we acted out a council in heaven and a war. The youth then went through a sheet that was draped over a doorway to represent the veil. The youth went through all the parts of the plan of salvation. A missionary was chosen to represent satan and whisper dumb things into the kids ears and try and lead them astray. They passed through another doorway with a sheet representing the veil of death and they were all put into the prison and there we talked about what its like in prison and after we all moved to the paradise and talked about that then we went to a judgment and moved into the 3 glories which were held in the cultural hall. Each glory was separated by a divider and we talked about those as well. It was a really fun activity. Many youth went to it.

After that we held our lesson on preach my gospel where we taught the members of the barrio how to commit people. Chapter 11 of preach my gospel. We are preparing to attack our sector as a barrio and go to all the less actives and visit and invite them to another activity that we will hold the following week after.

We have one week left of this change. I feel like I am leaving. I really dont want to. It seems like president doesnt like anyone staying in their sector for more than 5 changes. Its a bummer. But I would feel good if I left. I would know that I left the ward better than I found it. It has progressed like crazy.

This last Sunday one of my favorite familes moved away. Hermana Anna, Nacho, Almendra and lil´Emily. They helped us alot in the ward and with the work. It sucks saying goodbye to friends that you wont see for a while.

I found a scripture that I really liked. I thought it represented my difficult times that I have had in life and how the Lord has helped me find spiritual ground to stand upon.

“I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
“He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.”

I love you all! - Elder Brady
